Hey all, not much biking wise to report in today. So I did find a shop that does Bicycle repairs (a motorbike shop). They only had 1 tyre for my rim size, but it was more a MTB tyre. I have phoned ahead to the bike shop in in Emerald and they are expecting me tomorrow morning.
Just a day sorting some personal stuff, emails etc… Not a great deal to see and do here. A pieceful country town though. I strategically extended my stay at a cafe then a pub for lunch, sitting in a very peaceful park at the moment awaiting my bus to Emerald which comes from Mackay.

Found this classic hidden behind the pub I was staying at. Old school to the “Powers” of old school that Queenslanders at the lest will remember fondly in the days before Great Northern took over even the southern Australian states. I Googled it and it is making a comeback. Maybe they were right to not touch this sign in, oh I don’t know, 30 years?!

And the local rail line. I assume it would be a looooooong wait for the next steam engine to come through…

Funny how us hoomans get attached to inanimate objects sometimes. This 3 litre bottle hung on for deal life to my front fork, serving me well for over 400km. You go now…

***SOCK UPDATE***
So word just in that the sock may actually belong to my niece, not nephew and there were some fisty cuffs about who’s it was. Anyway, its still hanging on to the handlebar for dear life. Likely to return even dirtier with road grim and some bug leftovers perhaps.
Song of the day: Nothing too apt for the day. But I’m in Northern(ish) Queensland still, and I’m happy. So let’s go with Royksopp “Happy Up Here”.

That bottle definitely looks like its been through a rough 400 kms!
